The base motor in the restyled 2008 Cadillac STS is a direct-infused V-6 with 302 bhp, up 47 horses from the past V-6, likewise a 3.6-liter. As you may expect, the new clean-consuming powerplant feels like a sensibly effective V-8. However, it's not exactly a substitute, as the base STS is still about a half-second slower to 60 mph than its Northstar V-8-controlled sibling.

By the by, we like this back drive Cadillac a great deal, generally in light of the fact that it keeps on being founded on the very much adjusted Sigma frame, which is fitted with delicate however all around damped suspension and GM's smooth-moving 6-speed programmed that can be moved physically and rev-coordinates on downshifts.

A base cost of $42,390 appears to be sensible, yet our test auto accompanied some superfluous alternatives (path flight and blind side cautioning frameworks, and a head-up show) in addition to a couple we like that altogether enhance the 4080-lb. STS's donning remainder (a constrained slip differential, Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires and Brembo brakes). This knocks the aggregate to $56,530, a time when numerous people would expect a V-8 powerplant. EPA efficiency is a respectable 17 mpg city/26 mpg thruway.
